I went to a bank today to ask about bank accounts. Having a bank account is not hard even in Kathmandu. There are various kind of bank accounts available. I asked if I can have a card from them which I can use for online shopping and International use.Most of the cards they provides are only for use in India and Nepal. Very few of them issues International cards but they are again not for Online shopping.
And I didn’t see any advantage of having a bank account here. But I will still create an account if they let me. I may get a credit card from them if I create an saving accounts and buy a laptop in installment. I have an American bank account for online uses but its not my own account. So I was looking for a bank account here. But don’t know where these banks will be aware about online shopping,offshore bank accounts and other uses of banks.
