Do you use International phone calling cards or prepaid phone card? I am not sure about its availability in Katmandu but my friends who lives in abroad uses such phone cards. Phone cards are generally called calling cards too. Its a prepaid method of making long distance calls. Using calling cards to make International card saves a lot of money. You will not need to pay monthly bills. You simply pay for the calling time in advance and your balance  will be reducing from the card. The mechanism is quite like NTC mobile recharge card, you buy one in 200 rs. when you call the balance will start reducing,but its different. There are special calling cards for each countries. You can not just call anywhere using a single card.
