Using traffic exchange sites to boost Alexa ranking
One more problem August 8th, 2007I saw so many people talking about using traffic exchange sites to increase Alexa ranking. I had a pretty new blog and tried the technique on that blog. But I don’t think it works. Normally the Alexa ranking for that was being updated within 5-6 days by a little number. I used the traffic exchange website for 20 days hence until three more Alexa ranking update. But it doesn’t seems like working.I was getting more than 400 unique visitors daily but the Alexa ranking was changing in the same rate like before.I didn’t see any progress on Alexa ranking even after getting 400 unique visitors.
Generally the traffic exchange sites shows the site to be viewed in a frame under their site. So what I think is, Alexa counts all that visits as of the traffic exchange site itself rather than the site which is being visited under the frame. I am not sure but I think these traffic exchange sites are useless.

Traffic Exchanges aren’t designed to increase your Alexa ranking. It *might* improve it, but the real power is advertising. But, just like any advertising medium you need to tailor advertisements in a way that is effective on them. So I wouldn’t scrap them until you’ve tried advertising your sites with splash pages. Of course, not every type of advertising will work for every site, but it’s worth a shot..

when i started to increase my alexa rank i used the redirect from alexa to my website, and installed the alexa toolbar and would flick through the my pages a few times so alexa know that the pages are there and my alexa increased but that was about 3 months ago and i left it since then and it shot back up again
