Sanjaya Malakar also is not a good singer but people said that he went out early from American Idol because he was Indian. It was in America. Americans are considered as one of the developed people of world. Still there is racism. Now Prashanta Tamang, a Nepali native is in the final of Indian Idol. Indians are even more involved in racism. Indians are one of the most undeveloped minded people. I’m seeing Nepal and Nepalese being exploited by them thousand of times in bigger and smaller issues. From personal to bigger issues like current Nepal-India boarder conflicts.
Now you may say, who cares? about all this.
Of course they do. They’ve never showed respect to Nepal and Nepali. I dont think they will make a “nepali” guy an “Indian” idol. I have seen only 3 or 4 episodes of this season. But I know how they treat with Prashant. They do not dare call Prashant “Darwan” or “bahadur” or something which are generally used to be said to the poor Nepalese workers in India and which are insulting. And of course you may have heard disgusting comments about Prashant Tamang from Anu Malik. He is the real Indian, racist and a Asshole. He never said it directly but he doesn’t like Prashant Tamang because he is a Nepali.
They have learned a lesson last time when Shilpa Shetty became victim of racism in Big Brother. Now I think Prashant Tamang can only hope same applies to him. I mean if he got sympathy. Shilpa had faced her co-contestants but Prashant Tamang has to face an Asshole Judge hehe. God Bless Prashant Tamang.

04|Sep|2007 8I am in Kolkata and I have been checking internet related to Prashant Tamang, I have seen lots of Racial Comments from Nepali … I generally do not react to such comments, but i am really saddened by the type of comments passed to Indians…
I have stayed in India for last 37 years of my life… Prashant Tamang is there not because that only the Nepali people are voting for him,, though there are 2 other contestents who are Bengali but most of the Bengalis and largest circulating newspaper The Telegraph (English) and Ananda Bazar Patrika (Bengali) are supporting Prashant Tamang from the very begining… I read Telegraph so i know it is supporting Prashant for Last 5 months…. Not only this, people of all community are supporting him.
I feel very sad to say that it has become a national hobby of most of the Nepali to accuse india for all the problems they have. Whether it is The King massacre, the maoist, the madhesis…. all problems are being directed to India….
Please concentrate on Solving your country’s problem…..Anyway india is maintaining a GDP growth rate of 9 to 10% annually…..It is a democracy with free press…..With a population of more then a billion people … some bottlenecks will always be there but i am sure we Indians will make it and are moving in the right directions… There are around 10 millions people of Nepali origin in India….Your such comments puts us in uncomfortable position especially to those who are educated and working in Heterogeneous Communal Envirnment…. If in any case i hurt you then i am sorry,
btw….Prashant is here in Kolkata today and we all friends…I am the only nepali are going to see him…Bye…have a nice time.

06|Sep|2007 9Prashant is of Nepali origin but he is IN FACT AN INDIAN. I can understand the Indians of Nepali origin getting excited for Prashant. But I cannot get why Nepali in Nepal are getting excited for Prashant. He is not an NRN. He is a damn Indian. There is no reason for the people of Nepal to keep their fingers crossed for Prashant. Please stop this bullshit.

08|Sep|2007 11I would want Prashant to win eventually.. AND,
I can bet that Prashant is going to win!
I love all 3 voices…but what i admire most abt Prashant is that he is not a trained vocalist or singer, and despite severe criticism from the judges, he is calm, he has improved a great deal in singing and his performance, no big drama and tears and no extreme emotion like all other drama kings n queens of indian idol 3 top 10’s. He is naively innocent, one singer whose voice makes our hearts melt. General people love his nature, his smile, and are appreciating his efforts.
They know that he is the one who can excel far better if given the opportunity.
Despite all the inside politics going through SONY and what not ( they tried all possible ways to let his popularity down because they want a POP sensation to market their sales.. someone like Emon, who is good looking, and Ankita, who is a solid performer: They made Prashant act like a security guard so that his own fans would turn him down, failed to mention his code and didnt even mention that SMS code is changed after his perfomance in 10th gala, religion/region n nationality biased judges who do not see how far he has come or has achieved but instead try pulling his leg .. etc), it is his soothing voice, gentle nature and carefree attitude that allure the general people! It is not true that only people from his region or his local people are voting for him enormously. The whole of india has this opportunity to choose their IDOL. They have chosen him so far because of these rare qualities that the other contestants do not possess and not just because only the people from Darjeeling or police force or his fans are voting for him enormously.
If given the time and opportunity and even 2/5th of the vocal training that Emon or Amit had, Prashant can become the no. 1 singer in India…
I personally feel that his voice reminds me of kumar sanu and that I feel that i would not miss kumar sanu that much when I listent to him.
THanks for reading…

09|Sep|2007 12I cannot believe the discussion and the discussion starter. If Prashant Tamang is a Nepalese, why the heck should he be Indian Idol? I am amazed at the language used here, especially by blogtantra. Just because of your experience with a few indians, you decided to label all indians as “racists”. Go to UK and you will know what racism is. And, I don’t even want to comment on India being a more racist country than US. Of course, you are not to be blamed, it is your lack of knowledge and immature mind that one should blame.
Prashant Tamang has reached this far, not because he is good, but because there is a lot of money being poured in from Nepal to vote for him. Of course, tons of Indians in India (esp. in Calcutta) are also voting for him since he is from police force. I like Prashant’s voice, but there was so many better singer ousted. I used to like Nepal and Nepalese, unfortunately blogs like these will turn people like me negative. It’s a music show. Music is supposed to bind communities. I cannot believe we have turned it a regional war!!!
And “hey pathivendra” you need to think what you are saying. If Prashant did not want to be called an Indian, he should not have accepted Indian citizenship!!!
Lastly, it is so sad that India has almost become a refuge place for so many people from around India. Indians welcome all people regardless of what country they are from with open arms and still we are being called racists. Unfortunately, even we are not so now, comments like these might turn people like us actually racists…

12|Sep|2007 14I am a nepalese living in the UK. I like indian idol very much. Some people who are very simple and because of their lack of education, they make a disturbing comments. Just because you have had bad experience with some indians, you can’t simply put everyone in the same bracket. I think, Anu Malik gives a constructive comments. The man knows about music. I find it hard to digest comments from Javed Akhter towards Emon. How could he say to a 18 year old boy that he will not succeed in his life. Since, Ankita was going to be voted out, the man lost his mind. The man is a legendary song writer but very impatience and arrogant in nature.
First, lets make one point clear, Darjeeling is in India and Prashant Tamang is an indian. He couldn’t have gone that far in Indian Idol show without indians voting for him. He should only win the competition on the basis of merits. I vote for Prashant because he has got a good voice and he can get better with a formal training. I want him to win because he is an Nepalese origin as well. Initially, i didn’t like Amit Paul’s performances but after he came back via wild card, his performances have been superb. Personally, I think Amit Paul has got better chance of winning the show. I wouldn’t hesitate to congratulate to Amit Paul, if he wins. I urge people not to look for excuses after losing. It’s not about racism, it’s about hard work and dedication to be successful and winning people’s hearts and minds via your singing ability. GOOD LUCK BOYS.

Your success means happiness for all Nepalese-indians in India, as well as happiness for big Nepali community in Nepal & all over the world, and the happiness for all well-wishers of Nepalese people.

There is no such thing called RACISM
When people feel insecure they protech themselves with RACISM.
Weak people cover themselves with RACISM.
For strong people the strength SPEAKS.
for weak people they talk just like here in this forum and bring nox-existent thing called “RACISM”.

14|Sep|2007 17i personaly like to congratulate prashant tamang for his success in india idol..he has given hope and thing to cheer for millions of people with nepalese origin in india…am australian citizen with nepalese origin and frankly believe that …we have to be obliged to india for giving opportunity to people from ethnic minority….i completely agree with avadesh’s comment about javed akthar….taking his frustration out on 18 year old school going kid…that he can nither be performer or singer….and i liked the fact …prejudice palgued judges being dwarfed by….votes form fans….i personally think that both of this singers..are from minority states suffered by terrorism and poverty and gave people something to cheer about…..GOOD ON YOU BOYS I WILL BE HAPPY FOR EITHER OF YOU.just give your people ray of hope that they can be something.

16|Sep|2007 21Last final episode of indian idol prooved that ALISHA is really a bitch in nepali she is a r….. with big a– . She is not qualified to be a judge . When Prashant missed few lines then all judge comment but when Amit missed lines then she told it can be excused . No matter it proves that Alisha is INDIAN BITCH and does not need to go in any audition of BITCH’s Reality programe , she will be directly awarded INDIAN BITCH TITLE “BHARAT KI SAAN”. In my view JAVEED is is also not so fair judge . he indirectly support AMIT . If any one can’t do fair decision then he/she is not qualified to be judge so its better to quite the programme and go to the 6ka’s and clap hand together . . Its our suggestion from all nepali.
And i will like to thank Mr Anu Malik for his fair decission from all Nepali here in Nepal.

16|Sep|2007 23Good God…i have actually thought the Nepalese to be a fun loving, peaceful lot. I think i have got it all wrong. This much of furore and vendetta for a Television Program !! Whatever happens in Nepal - India is to be blamed, whatever happens in Pakistan & Sri Lanka - again Indians need to be blamed. My only advice to Nepalese is dont be like the Ostrich, take a peek out and analyse the situation and the world political scenario. India is such a big and fast developing country, that doesnt mean we are going to conquer all the neighbouring countries (including Pakistan, One of my Jounalist friend’s told me yesterday, US Special forces are training in Nevada, to neutralize and hi-jack the Pakistan Nukes in an even of anarchy in Pakistan). India is a bastion of Democracy (not Maoism & Stalinist, snuffing criticism), free press, Independent Judiciary etc. Whatever campaign the Nepalese unleash its not going to affect the Indian population much. I wonder where were these “anti-racilist” army when 20 Nepalese were gunned down by Islamic Terrorists in Iraq & videoed all over the world.., where they all sleeping..

17|Sep|2007 24Dear Prashant !
I’m from Nepal, Kathmandu. Please don’t worry by all about judges’ bitter comments because here I say, JAVED, Anu Malik and Alisha are good in music but not in judgement. Now they are very afraided by your different vocal and your typical performance because they always want that only indians can be an indian idol and moreover you are nepali so they don’t like any neplease- language indian become in the top.
They really praise your typical vocal performance from the hart but they never say on the stage. it is proved that in the begining stage of this progragramme, Javed Anu Malik were very excited from you but when they knew that you are nepali, they started to hate you even you have better quality.
Thus, You should be next indian idol and then all indians altogether Javeed, anu malik and Alisha will know that what nepali people are and how amazing Prashant is.
God Bless You !

17|Sep|2007 26Like tibet is chinas, darjeeling is also indias. People born there are known as indian coz its their nationality. Prashant may speak nepali coz most of the darjeeling people speak nepali but it does not prove that he’s indeed nepali. India is not creating any racism problem…if they were then prashant would already be suspended from indian idol……..I am happy that prashant has come in final but i support amit paul coz he has more talent than prashant… prashant has good voice but he is quite dull.
………………ooo dont think am indian..am nepali coz am born in nepal ni……by the way, when prashant sang that nepali song in rubaru….i went crazy!!! it was so goood.

17|Sep|2007 28you all are supporting him because you all are nepali and its for sure that amit sings well and he will be the indian Idol. wen people support prashant then they are good and when the judge does not support they are partil and support Amit. you know what i think is you are real people who support your own race and caste and not a true talent.
so wake still when there is time.

17|Sep|2007 29Bias judgement
On the episode telecasted on September 15, 2007, in the first round of songs, Prashant misses a word from his song which he mumbles and does not sing out clearly. All the judges except Udit Narayan comment sharply against Prashant. Javed Akhtar (commercial Urdu poet who writes for Hindi movies) goes as far as saying that he would like to cheer him with “once more” as long as he does not sing the song correctly. In second song, both the contestants sing well but the other contestant gets standing ovation from the judges who claim him to be “Indian Idol” at least for the judges. Alisa Chennoi goes as far as saying that she is voting for the other contestant. No judge is supposed to support or promote any contestant as a part of rules of any fair game on earth. The program hosts announce that the third song will be the deciding song as for the very first time both the singers will be singing the same song. In this song, the other contestant completely forgets the opening lines. He simply mumbles 5 starting lines of the song. He sings flat and can not recover even with the remaining parts of the song. By convention, a performer is supposed to finish the song, who is then judged by the judges and then after a commercial break, the other performer performs his/her song. However, seeing this pathetic condition of his friend (all the judges gave a shocked look), Prashant comes to stage and helps him with a few lines. As the other contestant does not recover even after that, Prashant sings the song (he was supposed to sing the song after the judge’s verdict and after a commercial break) and somehow maintains the poise of the program. After he finishes the song, Javed Akhtar says that the other contestant missing out a whole stanza equates Prashant missing a word, similar comment is bestowed by Alica Chennoi. Before Udit Narayan even finishes his comment, the female host quickly says that Udit Narayan has forgiven both. Anu Mallik tried to interrupt the bias but the host interrupted him saying that its time for commercial break. After the commercial break, Anu Mallik finally commented that the other contestant had done a terrible singing and that the judges should not take sides. Judges should from their side should be objective. Other judges show little intent of correcting and/or reflecting their mistakes. Anu Mallik raised the very valid question that was so apparent in previous episodes of INDIAL IDOL which is No matter how good Prashant sang the other judges and the guests did not appreciate his singing, why? Why is it so hard for the people to admit that Prashant Tamang is an extremely talented singer? [9]
This reflects a valid concern that has been raised ever since whether the organizers will go with the POPULAR CHOICE or interfere with the actual decision like the biased presentation.

18|Sep|2007 31I am a fan of Prashant Tamang and will be rooting for him and his performance on Sept 23rd. I have read several previous entries and don’t like the fact that Nepalese people using origin and communities factors to vote him. Unlike other Indian, especially those judges who have put him in a difficult situation, I will vote him for his simplicity, tranparency, great performance and more importantly an ability to remain calm regardless of the situations he has been.
I will keep my fingers crossed and hope he succeeds
By the way, racism and prejudice exist everywhere, not just India.

18|Sep|2007 32who will win is all dependent on the votes they will get……but i think there’s gonna be something internal arrangemet from SONY TV to support AMIT PAUL….so i kindly request the SONY TV not to be partial. and i also request SONY TV that one representative from each side must be invited to analyse the voting process. otherwise it will appear partial and there can be HUNGAAMA from either side………….so PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

18|Sep|2007 33Prashant will win for sure. My parents are from India but I was born and raised in US.

Darjleeng and Sikkim is of India…ahem ahem ahem…..please read ur history book…and tell me how India took it from Nepal…..that’s why there are lots of Nepali in those places….
Its good that bangladesh and Pakistan got separated from India…..I never want to go to India,,,it is so dirty, humid and crapy…and people in India stinks…they do not use deodrant…ewwwww

19|Sep|2007 36Let me say about racism. Sanjaya Malakar was out because he was an indian. NO NO it is not true. He was a horrible singer. He was moving further because he got a lot of vote from teens and Indians. I only go for the talent not for color or racism or religion. Compare Prashant with Amit, everybody knows that Amit sings a lot better than Prashant. Public should not vote according to their color, religion or JATbhat. This way, we will see each other as an enemy. We all are human and should have human being. Nepalese people from Nepal are very ridiculously sensitive. I still remember the story of Hirthik roshan. Please please, do not spread negative attitude towards anybody whether you are nepali or indian or american……
Finally, I would like to wish both of you a best of luck. Nobody going loose anything. Both of you are a great singer. One has to loose just one title(Bharat ki shan). But You have become popular.

20|Sep|2007 40I am surely agree with Mr. Devgan. I am also Nepali. In certain ways, I don’t support Nepalese(smell curry… blah…..blah). What the heck are you comparing with curry and singing talents? It is completely different from an Indian Idol topic. Here we are nothing do with indian, nepali or american, aussie ………

20|Sep|2007 41Hey Guys guys …Yo…listen guys…why you all fighting here? Let all the good people decide who is better and is the next Indian Idol. Why you all wasting time and blaming each other…it doesn’t matter who we r and where we come from. And Neeta who r u not to support Nepalese ? What did Nepalese do to u and what did Indian do to any of u and fighting with each other. Why r we running after pulling each others leg ? Prashant is self made guy where as Amit is not…its simple; he is been learning to sing since his childhood and in contrast Prashant didnot. But the fact is that both r good and they r where they ought to be and yet…mark my words…they r best frens. I don’t know Neeta, Devgan, Jason, Riya or anyone here who commented on the blog. I am not against anyone. Lets all wish who we support be the winner. And just not play the part of hatered towards each other.

21|Sep|2007 44i am an indian living in nepal. it is realy sad to see how prejudiced the nepalese are towards the indians. the comments made on august 12, 7:21 am shows the pervert mind of the person who wrote it. i love nepalese people, but i would like to suggest that they should comment and pour out their anger on the person who do wrong to them not to the whole indian nation. i would love to see nepal do well for itself but it is only possible when SUCH nepalese learn to judge wisely, rather than sit back and make rash comments about indians. please update yourselves about india before you open your mouths to speak. make the situation in nepal right first before you start pointing fingers at your neighbours. to tell you the truth i love nepal and the people here are very sweet..but because of a few ignorant ones, they get a bad name. please for god’s sake don’t make silly statements which lead you nowhere. Amit is good but so is prashant and i would, from the core of my heart, like prashant to win!!! all the best to him…and amit too.

21|Sep|2007 46Prasant has no comparision with anyone as he is not a trained singer and because of his talent he is in top 2,mean to say he will always be in TOP because if he can sing so good without trainning, think what he can do if he will get proper training.Prasant is Gonna win and no one else,he will make India proud, which he is doing till now.Its not about Nepali or Indian its about the TALENT an indivisual has and I personally think Prasant is more talented then Amit,he too is good but Prasant is the Best, and PLEASE its a 21st century yaar forget about racism,We want INDIAN IDOL not PUNJABI,BENGALI,MARATHI, NEPALI or TELGU IDOL .Those who think Prasant is Nepali and he should not be an INDIAN IDOL,GO AND WATCH ‘CHAK DE INDIA’ sayad akal aa jaye ,We all are Indian first and thats wat i have heared from all Nepali people,I have never seen Nepali people calling themselves Nepali First and then Indian, why dont every body go to KALIMPONG (Darjeeling) and see how Nepali people celibrates 15th of August and i think even DELHI people dont celebrate 15th August in such a ,on 15th of august u’ll not be able to find even a single house without ‘INDIAN FLAG’,So please stop racism and select right INDIAN IDOL and don’t Dare domidate Prasant because he is Nepali.WE LOVE U PRASANT…………………no matter wat people says kick them out and u do ur work.

21|Sep|2007 47I would like to Congratulate Prashant for being one of finalist and would just like to bring it to everybody’s attention that Prashant is also a PURE INDIAN as Indian as any other contestant so where the hell the idea of Racism popped in.He should be looked as a contestant and the disscussion should be on his singing not on his race. It has always been very sensitive topic which will always hurt the emotions of Indian-Nepalis that THEY ARE TREATED AS OUTSIDERS OR FOREIGNERS in their own country. For those who dont know Darjeeling is in India.Remember The TEA GARDENS,TOURISM,TOY TRAIN(WORLD HERITAGE) RENOWNED SCHOOLS,THE SOLDIERS READY TO DIE FOR THEIR MOTHERLAND?????? Is it in Nepal???? or iN INDIA???? The Entire world identify them as INDIA’S HERITAGE.SO plizz increase your GK,turn the pages of History and find out Whether Darjeeling and Sikkim are a part of India or not? and wheter the Nepalis staying there for Centuries are the natives of India or not. Coming back to singing talent of Prashant It is remarkable that without a formal training and inspite of harsh comments no encouragement form the judges he has proved himself.Without the people of India supporting him he would never have reached the top two.So it proves that the the whole India is with Prashant.

22|Sep|2007 48hello me, I really don’t like the way Nepalese are complaining about racism. I love my country. But I feel bad at it is not moving anywhere(economically, politically, socially….). Just a small reason, they create a big problem and always an innocent people get punished.
You asked me what did Nepalese do to me. 1) I love mountains(pahad) but I can’t go there because Maobadi are there to attack you 2) I was born and studied in Terai area but can’t go there now Madhises are there to attack you. 3) I don’t have any property because I heard that someday the bad(madhise and Maobadi) will destroy your property 4)I can’t walk and shop freely because there might be bomb in the crowd area I would like to help old people and like to do the volunteer to help people in different ways. I would like to visit Naranghat to meet the senior people but I am afraid to go there. I love my country. I want to see my country developing just like china and India and other countries. It is a very small and should be easy to handle but it is too late to think about it and it is falling a part. Me, think about it living in nice house with brothers, sisters. I we fight each other for our power then house will be destroyed easily. If I get angry then I will break the table or if my brother gets angry then he will punch on the wall. someday we have fix these. we have waste our saving on repairing the damaged items(wall or table, etc…). our country is also same as our house. So lets not fight about the minor things. I am not against of Nepalese. I teach my kids Nepali even our kids are born in USA. I teach them the value about our culture, language. Me, I hope I made it clear about this. Please don’t fight about using racism if Prashant does not win. He already won our heart and respect toward him. His future will be bright.

23|Sep|2007 49Prashant may win or may not win but whatver prestige he has earned will now shape his career. regareding the kathmandu craze for prashant i strongly request to exercise patience. I do not like the Nepalese to be called no more than the crowd running after nepalese. It will be injustice to singer himself if we look only at the race of the singer rather than his singing talent. This is not the political contest Nepalese .. have patience
pradeep
23|Sep|2007 50I don’t know why we get so narrowminded over such issues like the origin of the indian idol winner….we should be proud of the fact that there are still opportunities open for good talented singers from small town, poor backgrounds due to shows like the Indian Idol….
Rock on
24|Sep|2007 51Hey Ashis,
RACISM is a reality. It exists. Racism is not an excuse used by the weak.
I am not saying that Prashant faced racism in the show, I dont really know much abt it and have never watched it. He could have, he couldnt have…. anyway he won it…. thats the good thing…
But racism exists, come to the US, listen to news, look around you and you will see racism…
and finally.. grow up people…

24|Sep|2007 57who says that India has been exploiting the people of Nepali origin? These fundas like other fundas are the discoursesof politicians of various land where corruption is rampant. Why take this bloody stand on indians, don t you know the treatment meted out to the tourists in darjeeling and other areas….
biharis are called bhaiyas….bengalis are called bengali boka choda….
have you ever been to cal/delhi/bangalore……..nobody gives a fucking damn about how the fuck u look….or what s ur ethnicity……
and by the way have you ever asked yourself ” Does prashant tamang really deserve to win the indian idol 3?”
or is it that just because u people share the same ethnicity u have decided to cheer for him….
this is a cheap mentality displayed by the nepalese in mass numbers…
ONLY YOU PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THE RACE OF THE CONTESTANT WHEREAS THE REST OF INDIA DOES NOT !!!!!!!!
wonder what makes you people so proud of?
Brave Nepalese
24|Sep|2007 58Hello everybody!
First of all, I would like to congratulate Prashant. Although the comments that I am going to make are not relevant to the subject matter. But from all the comments that I just read, I could not stop myself writing these.
About the comments made above:
This goes to Rajni: we are not gorkhas, we are nepalese. I want to make it clear that gorkhas word became popular because there were people from gorkha who fought for India bravely. And somehow indians labeled them as gorkhas…. god I hate this word..
say brave nepalese guys……………..
Neeta about your comments:
Let me ask you one thing ” have you ever been to remote rural places of nepal?” don’t ask what nepalese did to you. Think what you did to nepal. You can just make comments and be modest in your comments. Its too easy to teach your kids your language and culture at home but can you think of those nepalese who are still struggling in far remote sectors of nepal.
How rude you are to say “I feel bad at it is not moving anywhere(economically, politically, socially”. Think first people as qualified as you are getting their bread and butter in USA and at the same time you are saying it is not moving anywhere. How can it move?
You were making good comments for indians like all indians are not the same and you cannot judge the whole community in general by just analyzing one particular individual. But at the same time despite the fact that you are a nepalese, you are saying “Just a small reason, they create a big problem”. How can you judge the nepalese living in nepal in that way?
hey neeta .. i want to give you a very good suggestion
stop calling urself a nepalese from now on
I, on behalf of the whole nepalese communtiy, would like to say that we are ashamed of ourselves that we have somebody like you representing our country in the foreign land. I wonder if you are teaching right cultural values to your kids.

25|Sep|2007 59Dear Parthivendra Upadhyay,
Prashant is an Indian citizen. There is no doubt about it. He is Nepali/Gorkha by ethnicity. He is not Nepali by citizenship and not Indian by ethnicity (if there is anything as such). People from Nepal voted for him because of ethnic relationship. Such relationship based on ethnicity is larger, bigger, greater, stronger than relationship endowed by citizenship. Accept the following facts, Devkota, Bhanubhakta, Narayan Gopal are equally loved and revered by Nepalis around the world; many Nepalis from Darjeeling went and settled in Nepal and have contributed to Neapli art, literature, culture, music, etc.Since, you seem to be naive in such matter, try to learn to distinguish the both, observe the facts around you, judge your statement (which seem to be personally inflicted), and try to understand why people are doing so, and why others are not idiot like you by supporting Prashant for Indian idol.
Happy learning,
SHUSMA SAPKOTA
26|Sep|2007 60Hi prashant, u finally showed the people how united we NEPALI’S are… ur simplicity and down to earth nature have attracted people towards u..so remain the same always.. dont change.. let people say watever they want as we knoe it,THE TREE THAT BEARS FRUIT GETS MOST STONES.. god is by ur side man.. heard there s a party going on there in darjeeling, sikkim, nepal. . . .thats sounds great n m missing it badly. CONGRATS… KEEP IT UP.

26|Sep|2007 61Well Congrats to Prashant for winning the Indian Idol.. He has made all of us from Darjeeling and Sikkim proud.. Regarding all the ignorant people’s racial comments against Nepalis and Indians… well here goes.. We leaving in Darjeeling and Sikkim are Indians whether any ignorant fools like it or not.. We are proud to be Indians and India is the country we will die for, as for our culture and language we are Nepali by Ethnicity and we are proud of it, and we will stand by it again weather some ignorant fools like it or not thats ur problem… as for Prashant, he is an Indian and a son of Darjeeling and we are proud to have him as an Indian Nepali, coz thats who we really are… And u can relate him with which ever country or race.. The fact is he is an Indian Nepali, a patriotic Indian with Nepali culture… Ultimately he has done all of us Indian Nepalis and people from Darjeeling and Sikkim proud because of his talent irrespective of his race… So pliz everyone lets just congratulate him and be happy for all of us… n pliz dont spread ur horrible messages of Racism n hatred.. We are Indians n I being an Indian Nepali would like to tell you that we are proud of our country and our brothers…

26|Sep|2007 62Hey i had put a comment few days ago. But now i realise that it was not approved..may I know y ….its pretty unfair…If i were you i would reply this mail!
Just a thought
28|Sep|2007 63Indian or Nepali?? I am a proud Indian and I am not even bothered what language I speak at home. But after reading all this has been written in this blog, I guess what everyone has forgotten is why this issue of Nepalese and Indian has come up in the first place? Many of the bloggers has already mentioned the downright biasness of Alisha, Mini, Hussein, etc directly supporting Amit and not even mentioning a word of praise for Prashant. Has anyone ever wondered how such biasness makes the Nepalese feel? THe idiotic rants of the RJ in Delhi recently asking ‘now that Prashant has become an Indian Idol, who will be our guards?’ How do you think such words makes the Nepalese react? The constant reminder from the judges to vote for the contestants not based on their region and ethnicity was in itself the root cause that has led to this stupid debate. But when everyone can claim and create so much hulla bulla about Nepalese ppl voting for Prashant, the same is being done for Amit in Meghalaya but no one is creating a fuss about it. Why? if the Nepalese were considered as true Indians and made to feel one, why on Earth do we find it next to impossible to land a decent government job? Go to any government offices or banks in Darjeeling and more often than not, you will find the employees to be either Bengali’s or Tibetans and ppl like us have to move out to get a decent job. Having said this, I am working in Nepal for the past 11 years, but I am still very proud to say that I AM AN INDIAN!!!

28|Sep|2007 64Now that Nitin Kumar has become a radio jockey, who’s going to be the village idiot?
Happy Guy..
04|Oct|2007 65Hi everybody…
Congrats Prashant. My vote was successful.
I am quite astonished to see such racist and ethinic comments on this blog.
I would like to inform you that I am proud INDIAN and I have many actual nepali friends who work here. Plus many indians friends of the nepali ethinicity.
And i forwarded this blog page to them and THEY ARE SHOCKED. They can’t believe anything like this could be typed by nepalis. I pretty much shocked by some silly and foolish comments by nepalis based in other country about india. Insted wasting your time why dont you go and improve nepal. I think you all know the amount of illitracy and poverty in your country, go and help them. and same goes for Indians.
It doesn’t make any difference if anybody jokes about Indians. Because atleast I have great sense of humor. My aussie friend used to joke about every thing indian (including curry) and I used to joke about Aussie. And it went OK !. Even then he like lot things here (including curry).
Some ethinic people are always centre of humor like sikhs, do they pass such comments ? Khuswant Sing makes joke about himself and sikhs even being one. Look at blond jokes. In australia there are jokes on English and in england about ausie. Similarly scotts joke about english and french about germans, USA about mexicans and etc. But i dont think anybody runs such detoragaroty comments.
Every body who had bad experiance about India, i suggest get along with some, we are good people (and we are too many to judge so early
)
Well regards to everybody. and Keep Smiling !
PS: A joke by me
Why do Indians smell?
So blind people can hate them too

06|Oct|2007 66Someone answered me saying that I should get my history correct. I know if I am correct or not. How can a person have an Indian citizenship and be a Nepali? Or for that matter how can a Nepali be an Indian Idol? The reality is he is a guy of Nepali origin and of Indian nationality. I was told that a madhesi teacher (i am a pahadi) counter questioned a gurung student with “are you Chinese?” when he asked the teacher “are you Indian?” No offence intended, but I can tell for sure the one who questioned hasn’t read any good books on race, identity, nationality and origin.
Oprah Winfrey is an American not an African. Baraka Obama is not an Kenyan but an American. Jay Leno is an American not an Italian. The only thing is that they are of African, Kenyan and Italian origin. Don’t be a racist guy. I love Prashant Tamang like anything, however I have a strong belief that he is an Indian. If not then why not let all the Bhutanese refugees be called Nepalese refuees? Afterall, they speak better Nepali than Prashant and wear Dhaka Topi more often. I know, your answer is no. So I say Prashant is an Indian and not a Nepali. Undoubtedly his origin is Nepali.
